After a 8 month mountainbiking break, I finally spent my 3 weeks of holiday back on mountainbikes in June 2011. For I sold my car due to tax reasons (Danish tax system is insane) in early 2011, I went travelling through whole Germany by train: Hanging out and biking with friends in the Harburg Mountains south of Hamburg, getting wasted with former colleagues from university in Chemnitz and spending 3 days with the nice girls and guys from Multicycle bikes and tours on the Allgäu Cross, a mountainbike round trip through the German and Austrian Alps.
You will find a short video of my holiday experiences from the Alps at the end of this post.
It was also one of the first applications of my new helmet camera: the Contour GPS. Convince yourself from its quality by watching the video below. All first person mountainbike scenes are recorded with the Contour cam. Hopefully, I will find time to write a dedicated review about it soon.
There’s not much left to say despite from some facts for the statistics: 10 mountainbikers from all over Germany (surprisingly all with Cube mountainbikes), approx. 160 km and 4.500 height meters uphill, a 2011 Cube Stereo as rental bike for me and 4 funny crashes (2 on tape). Sounds good? Watch it.
By the way, the open license music is from a Canadian one man project called Brad Sucks. Please support that guy with a visit on his website if you like his music.
Ok. That’s it. Movie time:
